Libro: Dune
Cuando leí Dune hace varios años fue inevitable pensar en las paralelas con el mundo Islámico. El planeta Dune o Arrakis es uno árido y hostil pero a la vez el único que contiene y produce “the spice” que es el recurso más importante del universo. Con este petróleo su gente los “fremen” tiene que vivir siempre a la defensiva bajo tierra y en cavernas. Son considerados alimañas o “ratas” por los invasores blancos por cómo viven. Tienen un profeta mesiánico “en este caso interpretado por Timothy Shiamaleeeeei” el hombre que parece niño que llevará la tribu hacia la tierra prometida, o en este libro convertir el mismo planeta Dune en uno fluvial lleno de vida.
El norte y sur del planeta se divide entre los que creen en el profeta y los que no, muy parecido a los Sunnis y Shiitas del medio oriente. Al final su chingado messiahs se la creé y está al borde de crear todo un jihad que ocasionará un desmadre y matadera por años.

En este clip ya conocido y famoso, Ben algo agraviado pone su pie y habla a favor de toda la otra gente Musulmana que es estereotipada con violencia. En mi opinión personal tiene razón. Por otro lado lo veo como un influencer más gritando que la vida es injusta y que así no debería ser, que nunca fue el punto.

Desde que lo recuerdo siempre estuvo como US military en algún pais emproblemado. Su último trabajo fue en Afghanistan y cada año nos traía a mi y a mi hermano alguna curiosidad como el tapete de abajo. Son tanques, misiles, granadas, y un Ak47 por que esto es parte de su cultura y tristemente no conocen más.
Es muy distinto lo que ves en la tele o lo que grita alguna celebridad en redes a lo que te platica alguien que tuvo literalmente los pies en tierra musulmán por años tratando de ayudar y entrenar su policía local.
Movie: Lawrence of Arabia
Un clásico que todos deberían ver. Muchas similitudes con Dune. Solo un salvador de raza blanca podrá llevar esta tribu al éxito. En algún punto le entra la duda moral que seguir luchando implica liderar la tribu que lo adopta hacia la muerte.
Serie: Messiah en Netflix
Muuy buena serie de una sola temporada. La disfrute mucho. Underrated.
Plot: Cuando una agente de la C.I.A. investiga a un hombre y a sus seguidores que atraen la atención internacional por sus actos de alteración del orden público, se embarca en una misión global de alto riesgo para descubrir si se trata de una entidad divina o de un estafador.
